No matter where you land on the political spectrum, we can all hopefully agree on this: Joe Biden's got great taste in football teams. 

620 WTMJ dug up an old 2011 interview with the then-Vice President, who in the middle of a discussion on typical re-election topics got around to his NFL team of choice: the Green Bay Packers. I suppose Delaware doesn't have a pro football team – but how'd he end up a Packer backer alongside Justin Timberlake, Harry Styles and other famous fans?

"I went to a Catholic boys school in Claymont, Delaware, taught by an order of priests called Norbertines, who have their abbey house in De Pere," Biden explained to John Mercure ten years ago. "I have loved the Packers – not just because, back in those days, it was Bart Starr, Paul Hornung and the rest – but every Sunday the Packers won, the headmaster, Rev. Justin E. Diny, would get on the PA system, literally, and say, 'Gentlemen, no last period today.' Made every one of us Packers fans.

"I'm fearful I'll go to hell if I don't root for the Packers; Father Diny may come back. I can't go against Father Diny; he'll come out of his grave if he knew I was rooting for somebody else."

Sounds like an excellent education. And sure, Biden was on the campaign trail for re-election at the time, so you may be skeptical that this isn't just some relatable politicking hokum – but this story has way too much detail to be your standard "put on a Packers jersey and smile for the cameras" campaign hand-shaking and baby-kissing. 

So congrats Wisconsin, as I believe this makes President Biden our country's first Cheesehead in Chief. Also: I have so many questions now about how he got along with noted Bears fan Barack Obama. Where are the White House historians when you need them?!

Anyways, the Packers play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. on FOX for a place in their first Super Bowl since a decade ago – and I'm suddenly feeling better about our odds knowing that the man in the most powerful position on Earth has our team's back.
