Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett announced this morning that he has directed his budget team, as well as the Department of Public Works, to prepare proposals for increasing pothole fixes throughout the city.
Barrett said from the beginning of the year through Tuesday, 1,251 pothole requests were received. During that same time, 1,158 pothole requests were resolved. He said the average response time was 2 days, 13 hours.
Barrett said the number of crews will be increased as needed, typically around mid-March and again in April.
Citizens can report problems by calling the pothole hotline at (414) 286-2489 or by visiting the website.
