Real-life Midwestern politics are about to get a boost from some fictional Midwestern politicians, as several stars from NBC's beloved TV comedy "Parks and Recreation" will reunite once again for a virtual town hall on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The cast previously reunited this spring for a special social distanced television special in the midst of the early coronavirus outbreak and shutdown – the show's first new episode since its finale in 2015.

Organized by the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, the virtual event will feature stars Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Retta and Jim O'Heir along with show creator Michael Schur discussing and encouraging absentee and early voting, informing viewers on how to request, fill out and return their absentee ballots – which are scheduled for release that day. The virtual reunion will also feature a Q&A session, likely ranging from election questions to still-unanswered "Parks and Rec" inquiries and behind-the-scenes stories. 

“We couldn’t imagine a show more fitting to inspire Wisconsinites to get involved in local and national politics than 'Parks and Recreation,'" said Democratic Party of Wisconsin chair Ben Wikler, in a statement. "We’re so grateful to the cast for lending their time and talent to get out the Wisconsin vote. Indiana may be home to Pawnee, but all roads to the White House go through Wisconsin."
