MILWAUKEE-- On Mon., Dec. 3, 2001 the Westown Association and OnMilwaukee.com will launch ParkMilwaukee.com, an innovative, one-of-a-kind Web site and parking resource for visitors to downtown Milwaukee.

ParkMilwaukee.com features a clickable downtown map with 35 destinations (Bradley Center, Shops of Grand Avenue, Midwest Express Center, etc.) and 14,688 spaces to park. Users will easily find parking locations and rates for all of the parking facilities and garages located west of the Milwaukee River in the Westown neighborhood of downtown Milwaukee.

The official launch of the site will take place on Mon., Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. outside of the Plankinton Avenue parking garage, across from the Rock Bottom Brewery at 744 N. Plankinton Avenue. Free parking will be available in the parking garage.

"ParkMilwaukee.com is the only Web site of its kind in the country, not to mention the City of Milwaukee. The vision of the Westown businesses, combined with the technological know-how of OnMilwaukee.com lead to the creation of this unique parking wayfinding system," said Stephanie Otto, Executive Director for the Westown Association.

"We researched Web parking tools across the country and found no other comparisons, so we have built this from the ground up using information from more than 50 parking operators in Milwaukee. We also have integrated ParkMilwaukee.com into OnMilwaukee.com -- the city's only daily magazine -- so that our more than 250,000 monthly users will be able to easily plan their trips to downtown," said Andy Tarnoff, co-owner and co-founder of OnMilwaukee.com.

ParkMilwaukee.com is the easiest and most efficient way to get Milwaukee parking information. And because it is on the web, it is designed for growth and change. Westown hopes to eventually add all downtown neighborhoods to the site.

The new Web site is being launched in conjunction with the City of Milwaukee's new downtown parking signage program. More than 30 bright blue "P" signs have been placed on parking structures by the Department of Public Works to make finding parking downtown easy.

Demonstrations of Parkmilwaukee.com are available by contacting either the Westown Association or OnMilwaukee.com or by simply logging on to the site.
