The "Milwaukee Parking Checkers Forgot How To Park Legally" Facebook page has fewer than 90 likes (and a rather clunky name), but it's already generating a fair share of buzz.

Started on May 22 by Milwaukee musician Sean Williamson, the page features a half-dozen photos of parking checker vehicles parked in no-parking zones, mostly on the East Side.

The page states the purpose is "to create community awareness and reach city officials and / or constituents that can see the double standard in action."

Williams says he started compiling the photos while getting a petition signed by Walker’s Point residents to get parking regulations changed.

"Let’s just say it was a lengthy process that involved email after email after phone call after phone call. I spoke with alderman twice on the phone. Nevertheless, the motion was passed and we have both sides of parking from National Avenue north all the way into the Third Ward," says Williamson. "The city is so messed up, that people continued to get tickets for overnight offenses even though the motion had been written into ordinance."

Parking checkers made the city of Milwaukee $22.1 million last year from parking tickets.

Williamson encourages people to post their pictures of parking checkers parked illegally on his page, but asks them not to "obstruct or harass them in doing so."

"Hopefully, this small social network community movement can empower citizens and bring about change," says Williamson.

Personally, I simply appreciate the irony. Oh, say it with me: the irony.
