Former Marquette University forward Steve Novak, who has spent much of the past month preparing for the National Basketball Association Draft, will work out for the Bucks on Monday afternoon at the Cousins Center.

Novak, a 6-foot 10-inch native of Brown Deer who attended the Portsmouth Invitational pre-draft camp in April, will be joined by Keelan Amelianovich, a 6-6, 210-pound guard from Illinois Wesleyan University, and Dan Grunfeld, a 6-6 guard from Stanford University. Grunfeld, the son of former Bucks general manager Ernie Grunfeld, played in high school at Nicolet.

Novak and Amelianovich will be the first players to take part in the Bucks' prospect workouts leading up to the draft on June 27. After on-court sessions at the Bucks training facility, the players will be interviewed by the media.

Novak, a unanimous first-team All Big East selection this season, is also expected to work out for nearly a dozen teams, including Houston, the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, Memphis and Minnesota. He is hoping to be invited to the NBA pre-draft camp, which will be held June 6-10 in Orlando.

Novak, who has drawn comparisons to Philadelphia sharpshooter Kyle Korver, is not known for speed, agility or ball-handling ability but has impressed scouts with his tenacity and court savvy and there is a good chance he will follow his friend and former teammate, Travis Diener, into the NBA.
