The world became significantly less funny today as Variety reported that comedian Norm Macdonald died after a quiet, almost decade-long fight against cancer. He was 61 years old.
To celebrate his life and the many, many laughs he gave audiences over his career, social media's been filled with people sharing their favorite Norm Macdonald bits. And it says something about his legacy that almost everyone's passed along a different favorite – from hosting gigs to "Dirty Work" to stand-up segments to his "SNL" Weekend Update zingers and late night appearances. They're all different, but all hilarious thanks to his mischievious deadpan and unexpected punchlines. (My personal favorite is his Conan O'Brien appearance where he playfully but savagely roasts Courtney Thorne-Smith's upcoming movie with Carrot Top while sitting right next to Thorne-Smith herself, abducting her interview with glee.)

One in particular caught my eye, however, this afternoon: another late night show appearance where David Letterman asks Macdonald about his friendship with legendary Brewers radio voice Bob Uecker. He asks for a story – and he gets one, complete with a John Fogerty cameo, a number of surely-panicked bleeps from CBS and a pretty solid Uecker impression from the comedian.
Here's the clip. Enjoy the story – and how much Letterman absolutely loves it:
Rest in peace, Norm.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
