NOTE: OnMilwaukee.com will have more on the Brewers' Game 5 victory later tonight.

Nyjer Morgan's RBI single in the 10th inning broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Brewers a 3-2 victory over the Diamondbacks Friday in Game 5 of the National League Division Series.

The Brewers found themselves in extra innings when John Axford blew his first save since April 18 in the ninth inning. He came back to work a perfect 10th, and after Carlos Gomez reached on a one-out single, Morgan's hit a 2-2 J.J. Putz fastball up the middle to drive in the winning run.

Yovani Gallardo started for Milwaukee and battled through six innings, allowing just a run on six hits with five strikeouts, two walks and a home run.

For the Diamondbacks, Ian Kennedy went six innings, also, and allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts, two walks and a hit batter.

After taking the last two games in Phoenix to erase a 2-0 Milwaukee lead, the Diamondbacks struck first Friday on Justin Upton's solo home run in the third inning.

The Brewers answered in the fourth. Morgan led off with a double to right and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Ryan Braun followed and reached on a walk. Prince Fielder then popped out and Rickie Weeks was hit by a Kennedy pitch, loading the bases.

That brought up notorious Jerry Hairston Jr. who scored Morgan with a sacrifice fly to Aaron Hill, playing close to the right-field line. The inning ended with Betancourt grounding out to third.

Milwaukee took the lead two innings later on an RBI single from Betancourt. The Brewers held the lead until the ninth when Axford opened the inning with an double by Gerardo Parra, his first hit of the series.

Parra moved to third on Sean Burroughs single, putting runners at the corners with nobody out. Willie Bloomquist tied the game with a single down the right-field line before Axford finally worked out of the inning with no further damage.

The Brewers will open the NLCS at Miller Park Sunday thanks to the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 victory over the Phillies Friday night in Philadelphia. That game will be played at 3:05 p.m.

Games 1 and 2 will be played in Milwaukee and the series moves to St. Louis for Games 3-5, Wednesday-Friday. If Games 6-7 are necessary, they'd be played next weekend at Miller Park.
