After a long break, Nine Below will reopen its greens and its newly refreshed East Side venue this month. And in case that wasn't heartening enough, the good news comes with a good cause as well thanks to Nine Below's Putting for the Pantry benefit program.
Starting Nov. 12 – the bar's grand re-opening date – and running every Friday and Saturday through Nov. 27, the interactive bar, which invites attendees to build their own mini-golf courses and play other's tricky greens, will accept non-perishable food donations from its guests. The donated food items will go toward Riverwest Food Pantry while players will receive $1 toward a drink purchase for each donation, up to $10. So basically, if you were to bring in ten non-perishable food donations for the pantry, you'd get $10 off your night's drinks. We call that a win-win no matter how good or bad your mini-golf swing is.
“As we’ve worked to make Nine Below better than ever over the past year, we wanted to give back to the Milwaukee community that has been patiently awaiting our return," said Bars & Recreation social marketing manager Madeline Redell, in a release. "It’s perfect timing to get into the spirit of giving as we head into the holiday season."
Reservations for Nine Below can be made at the bar's website. And for more information about the venue's impending reopening, click here.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
