Netflix recently announced their latest batch of new arrivals for the last month of the year – and there's a special surprise coming down the chimney this December: DC superheroes!

Yes, Warner Bros. – who owns DC – must've come around to the realization that running its own streaming service (Max) is both hard and not very profitable when your name isn't Netflix. (And even then, "profitable" is up for debate.) So, to make some actual money – and to maybe get them more views since Netflix is still the streamer of casual choice – WB did what studios used to do before they all followed the leader into oblivion and sold some streaming licenses to Netflix. So now many of the most recent big-screen versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Suicide Squads both very good and very bad – once bell cows for Max – will pop up on the Big Red Streaming Monolith next month. Because if you can't beat 'em, take their money and join 'em.

See, Warner Bros., isn't this a better way to make money than, say, deleting an entire completed movie out of existence before it even gets to see the light of day?

If superheroes aren't your thing – and judging by the decreasing box office totals, it seems that might be growingly the case – Netflix will also gift viewers some quality comedy in December with "Neighbors," along with past awards season favorites like the psychological thriller "Black Swan," the influential inner city drama "Boyz n the Hood" and the detective noir "L.A. Confidential." And in case you missed it earlier this year, the smash hit animated "Super Mario Bros." movie will hit the streaming service as well – just in time to make sure the song "Peaches" is back on repeat in parents' brains again. 

And that's all before I get to the latest collection of Netflix originals coming your way, too – including some bonus holiday-themed "Great British Baking Show" episodes, a new "Chicken Run" movie, the final episodes of "The Crown," Bradley Cooper's latest Oscar play with the Leonard Bernstein biopic "Maestro" and the star-studded literary adaptation "Leave the World Behind" from the guy behind "Mr. Robot." (Which, on that note, remember "Mr. Robot?") And because the world works in hilarious ways, just as a bunch of DC movies arrive on the service, so will the latest action epic from the franchise's polarizing former head honcho and current thorn-in-side Zack Snyder. Awkward ...
