The common complaint is that Netflix's movie collection isn't what it used to be, that they're focusing more on original programming than its movie catalog and that other similar services are passing them by with must-see new movie titles.

Well, you can't say they're not trying – especially with what's starting up this month.

Thanks to an agreement signed earlier this year, Netflix will become to new exclusive streaming home for Disney's new releases in September. Now, for people who confused this for Netflix streaming every Disney movie ever made, the lineup for September might seem disappointing skimpy. But it does have the delightful animated animal detective hit "Zootopia" and a chance to catch up with the ship rescue drama "The Finest Hours" (because, based on the box office results, you sure as hell didn't see it in theaters).

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, as the deal includes all new releases from Disney properties. So that means Marvel will show up here ... and Pixar ... and "Star Wars." And considering, just looking at 2016, Disney properties include the top three grossing movies of the year so far (and that's without including another Marvel movie and another Star Wars film en route), Netflix is going to be the home of some big names sooner rather than later.

So I guess we have to hush now about them not getting good new big releases.

If that wasn't enough, a few Spielberg classics – "Jaws" and "Saving Private Ryan" – are making their way to Netflix this month, as well as a few recent Oscar winners ("Crash" and "The Imitation Game"), the second season of Netflix's "Narcos," and the premiere season of Marvel's "Luke Cage" (which so far looks awesome). But perhaps the most important arrival to Netflix this month:

Oh yeah, that's the good stuff right there. Get excited, because it's Nicolas Cage in a bear suit punching villainous cult ladies and then getting tortured by bees season (which I guess is fall?).

Here's what else to look forward to next month – and what to stream before it's gone.

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
