If the list of Netflix departures for next month gave you a case of March Sadness, here's something to help turn that into March Gladness: the freshly announced lineup of new arrivals coming to the Big Red Streaming Monolith.

As is the norm for Netflix in this new streaming universe, the outside additions are more of a side dish than the main course, and there's little to make up for the fact that big names like "Black Panther," "Lord of the Rings," "Men in Black" and the "Kill Bill" films are saying goodbye.

But that doesn't mean there aren't some gems to stream starting next month – from classics courtesy of some of cinema's greats ("Goodfellas," "There Will Be Blood," "Tootsie," "Shawshank Redemption") to modern hits ("Silver Linings Playbook," "Kung Fu Panda 2") and nostalgic favorites ("Space Jam," "Hook"). The streaming service is even snagging the 1995 virus thriller "Outbreak" because hey, Netflix watches the news too.

The originals, however, are where you'll find the excitement. There, you'll find another season of "Ozark" (which, by the way, if you can't get enough of dark thrillers starring Jason Bateman," check out fellow new addition "The Gift"), a second serving of the terrific food show "Ugly Delicious," the big-budget Mark Wahlberg actioner "Spenser Confidential," the Octavia Spencer TV series "Self Made" about the country's first black female millionaire – produced by LeBron James – several more stand-up comedy specials, a few more murder mysteries (keep an eye on the murder thriller movie "Lost Girls" from Oscar-nominated "What Happened, Miss Simone?" director Liz Garbus) and much more.

All of that should help you forget about the impending departures – and forget that two more streaming services, NBC's Peacock and Warner Bros.' HBO Max, are just a month or two away from debuting on your soon-to-be-increasing TV bill. Because that's a great way to feel some serious March Madness.

Anyways, here's the full list of the new movies and television shows coming to Netflix in March.

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
