We're almost to February, the month of romance – but with great love must come great heartbreak, with the present of a beautiful diamond necklace must come a Subway gift card, with tasty chocolate must come those inedible Valentine's Day heart candies that say "LOL" and "TEXT ME." And with the new additions to Netflix must come the monthly list of movies getting kicked to the curb by the Big Red Streaming Monolith.
It's not a long list, by any means, but it is long on quality as several Oscar-nominated and award-winning gems – like "District 9," "Milk," "Rachel Getting Married," "Lincoln" and "Gangs of New York" – will be escorted off the premises in February as well as the thought-provoking showbiz indie standout "Clouds of Sils Maria" and the beloved Bill Murray comedy "Stripes." The "Matrix" movies will also vanish off Netflix, but considering the blockbuster sci-fi trilogy has been added and removed three different times since 2017 – including twice last year alone! – I doubt this will be the last time we see it here. Or maybe not, since Warner Bros. will launch its own streaming service, HBO Max, in May and will certainly want to keep those big names under its roof. But hey, why mess with tradition?

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
