This is one of the newer categories in OnMilwaukee.com's long-running Best of Bars poll at only three years old, but it's become a favorite of the voters and the bars included in it.
And, the favorite of the voters for the second straight year is Camp Bar, located at 4044 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood, which ran away with the voting by a wide margin over runner up Barnacle Bud's.
The soft, red lighting and the woods throughout Camp Bar make it a warm, cozy, comfortable place. The tables are close together all throughout the establishment, enhancing the community feel. Even the taxidermy, from the famous moose over the fireplace (and the bear next to it) to the new silver fox above the bar are charming and excellent stand-ins for photos.
While Camp Bar was the voter's clear choice in this category, Barnacle Bud's had to fend off the Foundation Tiki Bar to hold on to second place.
The staff at OnMilwaukee.com chose the atmosphere over at Boone & Crockett because of the vintage feel of the cocktail lounge.
OnMilwaukee.com editors' pick: Boone & Crockett
Runners-up:
2. Barnacle Bud's
3. Foundation Tiki Bar
4. Lucky Joe's Tiki Room
5. Branded (Iron Horse Hotel)
