The six-time champion Milwaukee Wave prepare for a busy weekend after an exciting third straight win against the Chicago Mustangs last Saturday.

The first game of the weekend takes place Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6:05 p.m. at UWM-Panther Arena against the Baltimore Blast. The theme is "Saturday Night Fever."

"Baltimore are the defending champions and we have a lot of respect for them," said head coach Giuliano Oliviero. "It’s two of the biggest indoor teams in history going head to head. We know it’s not going to be an easy game but we’re very excited for Saturday and will be ready."

The Wave is currently tied for third place in the Major Arena Soccer League Central Division after the last win against Chicago.

Forward Max Ferdinand, the league’s leader in assists, had an honorable mention in MASL Team of the Week - Week 12 after scoring four goals against the rival Chicago Mustangs.

"Whatever it takes for our team to win I’m going to do it," Ferdinand said. "Obviously the team helped me and set me up for the goals so it was a great team win."

Defender Edder Nelson will not be playing in the Baltimore game Saturday due to an unfortunate event against Chicago.

"It’s soccer and things happen especially since it was against our rival," said Nelson. "I care about my teammates and it’s going to be hard for me because I am going to be on the outside watching and not playing."

The Blast currently holds the first place spot in the MASL Eastern Division.

Tickets are available the day of the game at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena Box Office or online anytime at MilwaukeeWave.com.

After taking on Baltimore Saturday night, the Wave immediately hit the road to play against the Ambush on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 22 at 3:05 p.m. at Family Arena in St. Louis.

The Wave has won against the Ambush twice already this season.

"We feel good, look good and we’re finally clicking and coming together as a team," said midfielder Ian Bennett. "It’s a big weekend for us with it being back-to-back games. Obviously we have Baltimore first coming up and they are a veteran team. They’re going to be tough games but we’re looking forward to it."
