Romero’s Taco Truck, owned by Alex and Carmelo Romero, first hit the streets in May of 2020. Since then, the duo added two more trucks to their fleet.
The mission of Romero’s menu is to offer authentic Mexican food representing different types of cuisine from the Central American country's myriad regions.
“It’s like eating not just Mexican food as most people know it, but a little taste of every different state in Mexico,” says Alex, who created all of the recipes himself.
This year, Romero's will serve three different types of meats for the tacos: pastor, asada and customer favorite, birria.
"We enjoy being part of Taco Fest. This will be our third year participating. We love seeing the community trying different tacos and just getting to know all the taco lovers out there," says Alex.
OnMilwaukee: What is your most popular menu items?
Alex Romero: Our most popular and loved items are the quesa-birria and the birria ramen.
Do you offer any vegetarian and/or gluten-free items?
Yes! We most definitely have gluten free. Our corn tortillas, steak, beef and chicken are all gluten free. And we can make anything on our menu veggie friendly, including our tacos, quesadillas, burritos and taco bowls.
Where can people find your truck, other than at Taco Fest?
The best way to know is to follow us on Facebook.
If you could park your truck anywhere in the world where would it be?
If I could park my truck anywhere I would love to park in the middle of New York Times Square on New Year’s Eve.
