“To ensure that those celebrating in Milwaukee have a reliable ride, we are excited to activate the Free Rides program once again across the U.S. this New Year’s Eve,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager at Molson Coors.

“In collaboration with MCTS, we are looking forward to fostering community and fellowship as we ring in the New Year.”

Launched in Milwaukee, Miller Lite Free Rides has since been offered in cities like Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix and Louisville, too – nearly 30 communities across America.

In its first 35 years, the Miller Lite Free Rides partnership with transit systems around the country has provided safe passage home to more than 8 million people. That includes nearly a million in the Milwaukee area alone.

This year, free rides programs provided no-cost transit in 10 cities during five holidays and major sporting events.

Over the past three years, the free rides program has seen a 62 percent increase in ridership. In 2023, the New Year’s Eve Free Rides program served 200,000 people, the highest ridership to date.

“Our ongoing partnership with Miller Lite on New Year’s Eve is one of the highlights of our year,” said Kristina Hoffman, MCTS' director of marketing and communications.

“It’s a great way to fully enjoy the festivities with a fare-free ride around Milwaukee, the hometown of Miller Lite."
