"Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" by Cirque du Soleil comes to the Bradley Center on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17. This is the first musical authorized by Jackson's estate and features a large chunk of Jackson's musical repertoire, from classic favorites to deeper cuts.

Publicist Maxime Charbonneau says the show – which features dancers, acrobats and a live band – is a hybrid of a pop rock concert and a Cirque du Soleil performance.

"It's like two world colliding together," he says. "But ultimately, the show is a tribute to Michael Jackson's musical legacy."

Tickets are $50, $80, $125 and $175 plus fees.

Charbonneau says the show ranges in emotion and that portions of it are very moving whereas other parts are more upbeat. Many audience members get out of their seats and dance during the last 20 minutes of the show.

There is not an actor portraying the Michael Jackson character, and Charbonneau says this was done on purpose. Instead, Jackson is represented through his voice and images.

"Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" opened on Oct. 2, 2011 in Canada and will travel to 60 cities in North America by August of 2012. The show will then tour Europe, Asia and beyond.

Charbonneau says that anyone who is familiar with previous Cirque du Soleil shows should expect a completely new experience.

"Come with an open mind," he says.

I plan to attend and review the show on Friday, March 16. For those of you who follow me on Twitter, I will also live tweet from the performance.
