A delegation of Irish hurlers are coming to Brown Deer Park, 7835 N. Green Bay Rd., this Sunday to formally invite the Milwaukee Hurling Club to participate in the Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival.

The Milwaukee Hurling Club has just begun their 18th season and is comprised of members ranging in age from 4 to 50. It is the largest hurling organization outside of Ireland.

The Aer Lingus Inernational Hurling Festival is an invitation-only event held in Galway, Ireland (Milwaukee's sister city) in September. Only 16 teams from around the world have been asked to participate.

The Irish delegation will include Joe McDonagh (former president of the Gaelic Athletic Association), Anthony Cunningham (manager, Galway Senior Hurling team), and Mattie Kenny (coach and selector, Galway Senior Hurling team and Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival senior project manager).

The festivities at Brown Deer Park will begin at noon and include a meet and greet with club members and the Aer Lingus Festival team, youth games and a photo session.
