We could all use an escape – and if that escape comes with good food, well, better yet. That's what you'll be able to find at Merriment Social, 240 E. Pittsburgh Ave., with the Walker's Point eatery's new supper shacks.
Opening on Friday and running through the remaining winter months, Merriment Social's supper shacks provide private Northwoods-themed dining experiences, offering food and drink from the comfort of a heated, safely cleaned and closed-off greenhouse decorated with Up North flair. Rentals reserve the space for 90 minutes for up to six guests, with the full menu of drinks on stand by along with special cocktails available to preorder.
As for food, reservations require one of Merriment Social's food packages, which range in tasty theme from a date night spread for two, to a supper club sampler and even brunch – the latter two fit for groups of four to six people. The menus include:
Date night package (made for two people)
- Crab cakes with lemon aioli

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
