The winning logo will be used in all material and communications once the building reopens this summer. A local panel, that included assistance from OnMilwaukee.com, has selected three finalists from 28 submissions. Now, it's up to you to vote on the winner. In addition, as part of the Milwaukee County Historical Society's 75th Anniversary celebration in 2010, MCHS staff has selected 75 items from its collections that are both unique and enlightening. These 75 are still being revealed throughout the year, as part of the Anniversary celebration - first on the Society's Web site, then in an exhibit opening in fall 2010.
MCHS annual recognition banquet is Mon., April 26 at the Pfister Hotel. The winning logo and other information about the reopening of the Milwaukee County Historical Society will be announced at the event.
The Milwaukee County Historical Society was founded in 1935. Its mission is to preserve the history of Milwaukee County and to communicate its importance to residents and visitors alike. This is accomplished through the collection, preservation and presentation of Milwaukee County artifacts and archival materials.
A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.
Early in his career, Sherman was one of youngest members of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and currently is involved in numerous civic and community groups - including board positions at The Wisconsin Center District, Wisconsin Club and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
