According to information gleaned today from Maurer’s Vice President Kristie Maurer, the new Maurer’s Urban Market in Northwestern Mutual’s 7Seventy7 apartment building has its eyes on a May 15 opening date.

That’s good news for building residents, who will soon be able to enjoy the amenities of the 10,500-square foot supermarket, including a variety of 'restaurant within a store' features, including both indoor and outdoor patio seating for up to 60 guests.

The supermarket at 777 N. Van Buren St. will include a full selection of groceries, including fresh produce, meats and seafood as well as an in-house bakery, fresh deli and sushi bar.

Urban Market will also feature chef-prepared meals, including grab-and-go and ready-to-heat options. The store will have in-store and outside patio seating, plentiful and convenient free parking, catering services and online ordering for pick-up and delivery.

Maurer’s will also operate a small Stone Creek Coffee kiosk, which will be located in the hallway adjacent to the grocery store and elevators leading to parking garage. It’s expected to service grocery store guests, apartment dwellers and area office workers. The mini coffee shop will open in conjunction with the Urban Market.

Maurer says that the decision to partner with Stone Creek was an easy one.

"Our conversations with them throughout the process have been nothing but positive," she said. "We’ve been impressed with their coffee education program, and believe the partnership is a great fit."
