Marquette students will have another choice for housing next year. A new six-story student housing development, at 1400 W. Wells St., was announced yesterday.

The development will be owned by Chicago's Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC and constructed by The Opus Group. Work will start in August and the dorm will open in time for the 2014 school year. 

The development will feature in-unit washers and dryers, indoor parking, a fitness center, study rooms, social areas and 7,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Sweeney's College Books will relocated to 1100 W. Wells St. on the first floor of the Catholic Financial Life building.
