The Milwaukee Public Market is owned and operated by the Historic Third Ward Association and the Business Improvement District (BID No. 2 ) that it sits in. So it makes perfect sense that the anchor of this great Downtown neighborhood is giving back to the community this weekend during the Third Ward Art Festival.

The market will encourage people to "pet their whistle" as it helps raise money for the Wisconsin Humane Society. MPM will offer seven wines from five different regions at three outdoor locations along Broadway during the festival, with proceeds from the beverage sales benefiting the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS).

"The Third Ward Association has done such a terrific job partnering with Amdur Productions to grow this festival into a highly anticipated event," said Peg San Felippo, MPM’s certified sommelier and volunteer coordinator. "We thought adding a versatile wine and beer element would not only make it more enjoyable for attendees, but would also be a great way to raise money for charity."

In addition to wine and beer, the public market will serve bottled water, the proceeds of which will also be donated to WHS.

"We are so honored to be receiving the proceeds from the wine, beer and water sales at this year’s event," said Bridgette Frommell, vice president of development at WHS. "The Milwaukee Public Market is such a stellar example of a business that makes Milwaukee stronger by giving back to those in need. We couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment to saving the lives of homeless animals in our community."

The Third Ward Art Festival is free to attend and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
