The Wall Street Journal exposed the splendor and joy that is Maria's Pizza, 5025 W. Forest Home Ave., to the rest of the world this week. The family-owned and operated pizza spot is named by the WSJ as one of America's best pies and is featured in a video with the charming, second-generation owners.

"My grandmother (and later mother) made the pizzas so big because she wanted to feed everyone," co-owner Bonnie Crivello says in the video.

In 1957, Maria Traxel opened the first Maria's on 7th and Greenfield with her three children which remained open until she passed away in 1993. In 1971, she opened a second – the current – location on Forest Home Avenue.
