This post is brought to you by The Commerce Team. We operate independently of the OnMilwaukee.com editorial department, and if you take advantage of an item or deal we recommend, we get a share of the sale. We read the comments, and we want your feedback.
With the holiday seasons in full swing, OnMilwaukee.com, our ShopLocal marketplace and Local First Milwaukee have teamed to offer many unique, local items and deals. It's easy to access these local deals and over the next several days I'll profile seven of the local items.
Watch our Facebook page for a chance to win many of these local items, and – as I said – read my blog for some cool profiles.
Here's more on our next participant the Milwaukee Coffee Guild.
The Milwaukee Coffee Guild was created to help the consumer buy, brew and taste their coffee better. MKE Coffee Guild brings all the local Wisconsin coffee roasters together giving you the opportunity to learn more about what is available and how you can shop local.
Its goal "is to not just connect you to the roasters but to provide the tools and resources you need to brew the best cup of coffee at home."
The guild's unique holiday offering, the "Milwaukee Coffee Passport," gets you a free 12-ounce drink at participating local coffee shops. Your hop to 11 local cafes/bakeries and this coffee passport is sure to satisfy your coffee pallet or that coffee lover in your life.
It's a great way to shake up your regular coffee routine and sample new places. It's also pre sale only, and will be delivered to you the last week of January 2015.
Looking for other local coffee items? Try the guild's coffee delivery program or regular classes and you'll soon be a bit closer to brewing like your favorite local barista.
A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.
Early in his career, Sherman was one of youngest members of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and currently is involved in numerous civic and community groups - including board positions at The Wisconsin Center District, Wisconsin Club and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
He also thinks you should read OnMilwaukee each and every day.
