*Cue lighter flick* Weezy F. Baby is headed to Milwaukee.
On Tuesday morning, hip hop superstar Lil Wayne announced that he’ll be touching down in Milwaukee on Saturday, October 19th, alongside rising star Saweetie and Selfish Sons. The Fiserv Forum stop is one of just eight concerts currently announced for the Young Money Records founder before the end of the year.
The rapper/entrepreneur/skateboarder is no stranger to Milwaukee at this point, but the October date will mark just his third appearance in the city in the past five years. Previously, Tunechi had headlined Summerfest in both 2019 and 2022, and has largely stuck to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater as his venue of choice, having not played an arena show in Milwaukee since the turn of the millennium.
Wayne has not shied away from releasing new music, however, dropping single “Ya Don’t Stop” alongside Rick Ross and the legendary DJ Premier just a few days ago. In 2023, he released three projects, including a collaborative tape with 2 Chainz entitled “Welcome 2…” in November. That’s merely the latest in what is now over a quarter century of hits, with Wayne’s name forever being dominant in the world of hip hop.
“Best Friend” rapper Saweetie joins Wayne as the main support on the Milwaukee show, with a name that only continues to elevate as well. Radio hits like the aforementioned Doja Cat collaboration, “Tap In” and more are sure to be in the set as well, and she’s released a string of singles this year alone. Emerging indie pop band Selfish Sons will round out the lineup, having previously opened for acts like The Kid Laroi, The Jonas Brothers, and Lil Wayne himself.
Tickets for Lil Wayne are on sale this Friday via the Fiserv Forum website. You can find out more about the show here.
