"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com – brought to you by Absolut, Avion, Fireball, Pama, Red Stag and 2 Gingers – is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun articles on bars and clubs – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

Although I have spent lots of time in bars for umpteen years, somehow I have never learned to play bar dice. Other than the occasional pinball game – or shuffleboard if I’m at Burnhearts – I’m not really a bar games person. (If forced to label, I’m more of a chatty Guinness chugger, I guess.)

However, recently, I got talked into a game of dice and, while shaking, I remembered how much I once liked Yahtzee. And then I drank two shots of whiskey and suddenly was really into learning everything about the game. Some of which, admittedly, I forgot the next morning.

However, because it is Bar Month on OnMilwaukee.com, and because I like a not-too-challenging challenge, I am going to attempt to really learn the secrets of bar dice this month. Hopefully, I will not learn any more secrets of over-consuming shots of whiskey because that never bodes well for me.

In any case, I will report back. So far, Rick at O’Lydia’s and a bartender whose name I can’t remember, but he was wearing a vest at The Tin Widow, have shown me the basics. But I have a long way to go.

I shall report back.
