West Allis' Layman Brewing hosts its second annual Fish Boil on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m., which will also serve as a release party for its newest bottled beer, Honey Moon Quad.
Brewer Kyle Ida will fire up the kettle for a classic Northwoods fish boil with potatoes and veg in herbed stock. There will also be the standard sides, like rye bread, lemon wedges, scratch coleslaw and Layman’s own special onion-based tartar sauce.
Save room for cheesecake with homemade fruit compote for dessert.
There will be table games and more at this outdoor event (dress appropriately).
Ida and Sarah Warran will also launch their latest bottled brew, a Belgian quad made with caramelized orange blossom honey. Aged eight months, this amber beer takes its inspiration from Medovik, a traditional Ukrainian layered honey cake. It has rich honey and burnt sugar flavors, with toasty malt and a hint of spice.
Fish boil tickets are $20 and available in person at Layman Brewing, 6001 W. Madison St., or online here. Last year's event sold out, so don't wait too long.
