Milwaukee's second-oldest craft brewery has joined the ongoing boom in quaffable lagers (hey, trendspotters, didja hear that Columbus, Ohio's Garage Beer light lager has also just landed in Wisconsin?).

Lakefront has added Dive Beer, a 4.2 percent "Milwaukee lager" to its year-round lineup.

The beer – which the brewery describes as, "a classic, easy-drinking lager. Pours pale gold with a fine white head. Light-bodied and refreshing with a fresh-baked bread flavor up front, malty sweetness is checked by a modest hop addition" – is available in 15-pack, 12-ounce cans.

“This beer is both crushable and great-tasting,” adds Lakefront's Brand Manager, Michael Stodola. “This could easily become a favorite on the porch, while lawnmowing or watching football.”

Brewed with Mt. Hood and German Saphir hops and two-row pale malt, I'd guess (I have to guess because I haven't tried it yet) that the ever-reliable Lakefront's take on the classic sessionable lager is at or near the top of the pack in terms of flavor.

Find out for yourself when, in Brew City style, Lakefront hosts Dive Beer Night on Mondays from 3 until 9 p.m. and all pints of Dive Beer on tap are $2.

Dive Beer is also available wherever Lakefront Brewery products are sold.
