A lot of people have written me since last week's Track Marks weekly music questionnaire ran to ask if I'd had any communication with its subject Kelsey Kaufmann.

Kelsey who has performed in local bands, books shows and helps run a local art gallery and basement show space has been studying abroad in Cairo for months. She sent me her responses to Track Marks just before the people's uprising in Egypt began and then dropped out of contact as the Egyptian government shut down the Internet.

Well, I thought everyone would be happy to hear that Kelsey is safe, if exhausted, and on her way to Jordan after having her academic program canceled and being forcibly evacuated from Cairo. She's allowed me permission to reprint a blog entry from her Facebook page.

Hi Hi Hi Everyone!!!

I am safe & well. It has been a long weekend. I arrived in Athens, Greece, a couple of hours ago after a wild day of traveling. I will be here for a couple of days with limited internet access. From here I will be going to Jordan for the rest of the spring semester. Your care and comments are overwhelming and very appreciated!!!

I will be writing some blog entries about Egyptian revolutionary haps and my experiences in the days to come. All I can really say now is thanks and keep the people of Egypt in your thoughts. The protests of the last week mark the beginning of the end of Mubarak's reign and a new age for Egypt. The freedoms and obstacles ahead can't be summarized. Through and through, it is exciting and daunting. The folks of Egypt are an inspiration and have taught me a great deal.

 Love to you all,
