Musician John Grant is not the kind of person to bottle his emotions. He's open about his past, his lifestyle and his imperfections.

Originally from Denver, the former leader of the Czars recently released his second solo album, "Pale Green Ghosts." It is a passionate journey into the mind of a very compelling artist. The song that's getting the most attention from the album is entitled "GMF."

His lyrics, "I am the greatest mother f-cker that you're ever gonna meet from the top of my head down to the tips of the toes on my feet" are so confident and sung with such poise that you actually believe him. Casual cursing is a theme through out the album, but it's done in an eloquent way giving deeper knowledge to his pain and self assurance.

His witty lyrics are surrounded by catchy choruses and a sound that makes "Pale Green Ghosts" an unmistakably '80s sounding album. It truly is a revealing listen in to his life.

The addition of Sinead O'Connor's backing vocals on "GMF" and "Glacier" are interesting and compliment Grant's voice, synthesizers and beats. The two formed a special bond last year after she covered Grant's song, "Queen Of Denmark."

John Grant is currently touring the U.S. in support of the new CD and stops back in Milwaukee at The Pabst Pub on Wednesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. Update: The show has been moved from Turner Hall Ballroom.

In today's Kramp Cast I talk to John Grant about the cursing in his songs, the music that inspires him, the meaning behind my favorite song on the album "Pale Green Ghosts" and his love for horror movie soundtracks. Enjoy!
