I’m not sure why, but it seems health has been kept separate from healthy living in the TV shows we watch. Maybe it was done to have weight-loss programs carve out a niche to serve an audience.
But when one looks at their weight, and physical health, they keep it separate from achieving personal and career goals. In actuality, they are all in the same.
"I can teach someone how to lose weight in 5 minutes," fitness coach Jillian Michaels said, talking about when she works with people, it is a small part of the whole. "It is one of the reasons that 2/3rds of people in America are obese. Ultimately, I find that 99.9 percent of the people are unhappy as well."
Michaels, star of the show "The Biggest Loser" on NBC, is making her first trip to Milwaukee, bringing her "Maximize Your Life" speaking tour to the Riverside Theater on May 5.
"I’m excited about his opportunity," Michaels said in a phone interview last week. "I’ve done the show four times now," she explained, saying she enjoys the second part of the show where she talks about seeking a positive life that is fulfilled with family and personal success.
The physical trainer has appeared in 11 seasons of "The Biggest Loser." She works with the contestants on not just losing weight, but finding keys to health and happiness. She said that her show here will get into what she does behind the scenes of the show to motivate the people she works with.
"Your health is the platform that your entire life is built upon – from your physical health to your confidence and self-worth, I will give you the skill set, tools and insights to transform any aspect of your life immediately so you realize your true potential, and create the future you've dreamed of and deserve," Michaels said in the release promoting the show.
Michaels said that everyone who is seeking ways to accomplish personal and career goals should attend, and through her personal experiences and knowledge gained by working with others, she will deliver information and a message people can use. As she’s known for, there’s no hype or false promises – just results.

STATION PURCHASE: Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns and operates two stations in Milwaukee, is working a $373 million deal to buy Fisher Communications and the 20 television stations it owns.
In addition to WVTV-TV CW 18 and WVCY-TV My 24, the company would add to its large footprint, and end up reaching about 34 percent of all households in the U.S.
"We are excited to acquire Fisher and expand our coverage westward, especially in the two key markets of Seattle and Portland," Sinclair CEO David Smith told Deadline New York.
PROFESSIONAL CONTENT: LinkedIn, the professional social media platform, has acquired Pulse for $90 million. The startup Pulse developed a news aggregator to be used on mobile devices. The move proves that LinkedIn is making steps to become a content hub for its members.
In 2012, LinkedIn launched its efforts in creating original content with its LinkedIn innovators, tapping the likes of Richard Branson and Jack Welsh and allowing others to follow their updates.
