RedPrairie Corporation CEO John Jazwiec, who made headlines in and out of the boardroom during a six-year tenure with the company, resigned Friday.

Jazwiec, who was outspoken in his criticism of the business environment in Milwaukee and Wisconsin, said in a statement that he was relocating his family to Chicago.

The announcement came weeks after Jazwiec told of an incident in which an armed man invaded his East Side home and held the CEO and his family hostage. Jazwiec did not report the crime to police, but he contacted Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett the following day and e-mailed his neighbors.

Milwaukee Police began investigating the incident, but Jazwiec's attorneys asked them to stop.

"Over six years, John drove the transformation of RedPrairie into a leading provider of end-to-end supply chain software solutions," said board chairman and Managing Director of Francisco Partners David R. Golob.

"Under his leadership, RedPrairie experienced significantly improved growth and profitability. John has made a tremendous contribution to RedPrairie's success, and we are grateful for all he has done for the company, its customers, its employees, and its shareholders."

R. Michael Mayoras, who has been with RedPrairie in an executive capacity since 2004, will succeed Jazwiec.
