For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."
Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, fans will need to wait a few weeks to see Food Network star and cookbook author Ina Garten.
The Riverside Theater reports that, due to the extreme weather conditions on the East Coast, Garten will be unable to make her sold-out event on Friday, Nov. 2. Her appearance has been rescheduled for Nov. 29.
All tickets purchased for her Nov. 2 show will be honored for the new date. Ticket holders will receive their autographed copy of Garten's newest cookbook, "Foolproof," at the Nov. 29 event.
"This has been a truly difficult week on the East Coast," Garten posted for her fans on Facebook this afternoon. "Thank you all for your kind wishes; we in East Hampton have been mostly spared from the wrath of Hurricane Sandy but my heart is with all those folks who suffered so much this week.
"With the New York railroads and airports closed, it's impossible for me to get to Chicago, so in addition to cancelling King of Prussia, Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis, I've also had to postpone our events on Friday in Chicago and Milwaukee. I'm so sorry but hopefully I will see you when we set up a new date."
