Snuggle up with some holiday cheer as OnMilwaukee shares stories of everything merry and bright in the spirit of the season.
The OnMilwaukee Ho Ho Holiday Guide is brought to you by Harley-Davidson Museum and MolsonCoors.
Turner Hall, 1040 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave., will host the 3rd annual Blackity Black Holiday Market on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Presented by HYFIN, Milwaukee's premier digital-first Black music and culture platform, the event will showcase the work of 40 Black-owned businesses and offer a truly unique shopping experience for the community.
In a city where only 1.8 percent of 28,668 businesses are Black-owned – below the national average of 2.4 percent – the Blackity Black Holiday Market is a vital platform for economic empowerment and community connection.
Last year, the event drew more than 1,000 attendees.
"The Blackity Black Holiday Market has become more than just a shopping event. It's a movement celebrating Black entrepreneurship and creativity in Milwaukee," says Tarik Moody, HYFIN’s Creative Director.
Vendors will showcase a wide range of products, from handcrafted items to specialty goods, reflecting the diversity and talent within Milwaukee's Black business community.
The market builds upon HYFIN's support for Black entrepreneurs, including their recently launched Black Small Business Initiative (BSBI). This scholarship valued at $100,000 provides five area businesses with extensive marketing support.
"Connecting consumers directly with local Black-owned businesses creates sustainable economic opportunities and strengthens our community's fabric," says Moody.
