The event kicks off with the New Berlin Eisenhower High School Jazz Band and quickly heats up when trumpeter Brian Lynch -- a Milwaukee boy who lives and works in New York -- leads a clinic at noon.
Saxman Chris Vadala (of Chuck Mangione’s band) follows at 1, Tom “Bones” Malone (from Letterman’s band)) at 3 and Bela Fleck’s Jeff Coffin at 4. The Pius XI High School Jazz Band plays at 2 p.m. and there’s a jam session at 5 p.m. to close out the program. There will be Q&A and autograph sessions with the talent and more.
“This is the third in a series of events sponsored by Cascio Interstate Music in our company’s continuing effort in the community, helping provide the Milwaukee area with world-renowned performances in a free clinic-style setting,” said CEO Michael Houser. “And we’re proud to do this in our own hometown.”
The event is free and open to all.
