Children's Holiday Magic Project officially releases its annual CD at Release Party and Fundraising Gala in San Diego, California, on Sunday, Dec. 10.
This is the 15th edition of the project which seeks to bring the magic of storytelling and songs to children who are hospitalized over the holidays; to brighten the lives of children of all ages through the gift of songs and stories.
This year's goal is to reach 12,000 children and their families in over 70 hospitals worldwide. Hospitalized children will receive gift cards with a special code to download the album affixed to a fun activity book.
The brainchild of voice actor, radio personality and audio producer Jeff Gelder, the Children's Holiday Magic Project has provided free compilation CDs of fun songs and stories to thousands of children who are hospital-bound over the holiday season worldwide since 2003.
A few hundred copies of the CD will be delivered to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin soon after. The Milwaukee hospital has been receiving the CDs since 2006.
The lineup for this year's gala is extraordinary, with a charity record-breaking nine performers signing up to be involved, including A Family for Today, and Every Day (featuring Teri Wilder with Maria Kostelas and Abigail Welch), Jayson Coleman, Fans of Jimmy Century (with Alicia Perrone and Victor James), Ashley Fox Linton, Peggy Lebo, Lele Rose and Tina Wilson.
Utilizing the creative talents of a variety of actors and singer/songwriters, and the support of sponsors and non-profit partners, the reach for the project increases to include more hospitals and cities each year.
