The Brewers made a roster move after their 12-4 loss to Cincinnati Wednesday night at Miller Park.

Outfielder Tony Gwynn, Jr., sidelined by a strained left hamstring, was placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Brewers recalled infielder Hernan Iribarren from Class AAA Nashville to take Gwynn's spot on the roster.

The Brewers also recalled right-hander Yovani Gallardo from his rehab assignment. Gallardo, who pitched for the Sounds on Wednesday, will join the team in New York but will not be activated immediately.

Gallardo, who is returning from knee surgery, may be asked to make one more start in the minor leagues. Or, he could be tabbed to replace Dave Bush in the rotation next week.

The Brewers are to face the Reds at noon Thursday.
