Fall is here, and the temperatures are dropping – so what better time to cuddle up with the snuggly sweater of the streaming world, a blanket in television form: "The Great British Baking Show" on Netflix!
That's right: The world's nicest competition show is back with even more delightful pensioners, even more talented bakers half my age, even more cornball jokes, even more sinful-looking snacks and even more contestants failing with incredible grace and gentle humor. And somehow it's already coming to a close, as our three last standing baking besties – Chigs, Giuseppe and Crystelle – battle it out to see who will claim the title of champion as well as the glorious and glamorous prize of ... a nice cake platter. God, this show is so charming.
Let's talk about all the final developments, the last risers and the soggy bottoms of the bunch, with a season-closing Facebook Live video recap. Is this final three the best we've ever seen? What the heck was happening with Giuseppe this episode? What in god's name did Crystelle do to her showstopper focaccia? And most importantly, who won – and did they REALLY deserve the win?
So, one last time: Let's drink and discuss! (From sunny Hawaii!)
Cheers to another delightful batch of "The Great British Baking Show" episodes and personalities – and stay tuned to OnMilwaukee's Facebook page for more live recaps, typically complete with booze! (Pru would certainly approve.)
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
