From hiring 200 new grocery store employees to figuring out how to conduct eye exams safely, the business owners we talked to in this episode of The GoGedders Podcast have had to make some really tough decisions in the last several weeks.

Talking to Ted Balistreri, co-owner of Sendik’s; Darren Horndasch, CEO of Wisconsin Vision; and Dr. Bryan Gerondale, CEO of Chiropractic Company, we got a behind-the-scenes look into how these large, local businesses changed their trajectory to adapt to the pandemic.

With all three of the businesses, we talk about being considered essential in Wisconsin, and we get to hear the real stories of what it’s like to be open during these times.

Recorded just a day after the Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned Wisconsin’s "Safer at Home" order, we hear firsthand accounts of differing opinions of how to handle COVID-19. 

Showing the vast difference in opinion, some patients had to watch as the chiropractors disinfected the entire chiropractic space to feel comfortable with being taken care of, Dr. Gerondale said. Others didn't understand why the chiropractors would even wear masks. 

Horndasch has seen this too at Wisconsin Vision. 

"We’ve had people try to enter our premises saying it’s my constitutional right not to wear a mask," he said. 

We hear stories of differing views on COVID-19, but also get to hear what it was like to have to tell employees they would be furloughed, only to then receive Paycheck Protection funding at the last minute, bringing them back to work.
