Snow may have been falling yesterday, but summer festival season is still just around the corner.
In case you need reassurance that it won't be slushy and cold forever, Gathering on the Green announced this morning its lineup for this summer's two-day musical extravaganza, hosted at Rotary Park, 4000 W. Highland Rd., in Mequon on July 13-14.
Headlining day one of Gathering on the Green will be pop rockers American Authors, the New York City band most famous for its Top 40 hits "Best Day of My Life" and "Go Big or Go Home." They'll be joined on Friday, July 13, by special guest GGOOLLDD.
The Milwaukee based electro power-pop outfit has been an impressive local and Midwestern radio mainstay over the past several years thanks to ear-wormy hits like "Undercovers" and "Gold," scoring a Radio Milwaukee Music Award for Band of the Year in 2016 in the process, as well.
After a night of up-and-coming radio stars, day two of Gathering on the Green on Saturday, July 14, will turn back the clock for a duo of iconic classic rock voices: Dennis DeYoung and the music of Styx, as well as Lou Gramm, the original voice of Foreigner.
Both shows begin at 8 p.m., while the parking area will open at 4 p.m. and the park itself will open at 4:30 p.m. Presale tickets will go on sale beginning Thursday, March 8, at 10 a.m., with tickets going available to the public on Friday, March 9, at 10 a.m.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
