It's never too early to start looking ahead to the summer live music season – so today Gathering on the Green announced its headlining acts for its 2022 festival.
Hosted July 7-10 at Rotary Park in Mequon, the four-day outdoor musical event – a non-profit that uses proceeds to help support music education programs in the Wisconsin community – will host a variety of styles and genres for its 27th edition and its second year in a row after taking 2020 off due to the pandemic. The festival returned this past summer with headliners Cheap Trick and Trace Adkins.
Festivities start on Thursday night with an evening in honor of military and first responders led by Bruce in the USA, a Bruce Springsteen tribute band. The weekend's featured primetime shows will then shine their spotlights on country and classic rock with a trio of Nashville performers – Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin – on Friday followed by 38 Special and Night Ranger on Saturday. "American Idol" finalist Danny Gokey will then bring the festival to close with a matinee performance at noon on Sunday.
Here's the full lineup, with dates and times, for Gathering on the Green 2022:
- Thursday, July 7 at 6 p.m. – Bruce in the USA
- Friday, July 8 at 8 p.m. – Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin
- Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m. – 38 Special and Night Ranger
- Sunday, July 10 at noon – Danny Gokey
“Through our continued thoughtful planning, we are incredibly excited to celebrate our 27th annual summer music festival,” said Rob Kos, executive director of Gathering on the Green, in a release. “As with the previous year, we look forward to putting on an amazing music event that will be safe and provide enjoyment to both first-time attendees and our ticketholders that continue to support the July concert series year after year.”

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
