Snuggle up with some holiday cheer as OnMilwaukee shares stories of everything merry and bright in the spirit of the season.
The OnMilwaukee Ho Ho Holiday Guide is brought to you by Harley-Davidson Museum and MolsonCoors.
Be prepared! While Frankie MacDonald hasn't had much snow to report this winter yet, here's something delightful in the forecase: The beloved internet weatherman is getting a new talking bobblehead, courtesy of Milwaukee's own National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
The special new chatty collectible features the Nova Scotia-based weather enthusiast decked out for the holidays with a Santa hat and a "Be Prepared!" Christmas sweater on a red and green base. And because simply reading Frankie's catchphrases and words doesn't entirely capture his spirit, the bobblehead will talk, with several recorded holiday messages from the storm superfan built into the collectible and activated with a button push.
This talking bobblehead is far from the first toy tribute to Frankie. MacDonald was first immortalized in bobblehead back in 2015 with a collectible made by Bobbleheads Canada. That company followed that up with another special edition version before the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum stepped in and took things to the next level in 2020 with the first of seven variations of a talking Frankie bobblehead.
One thing they all – including the latest edition – have in common, though? The springy statuettes to Frankie, who has autism, all donate a portion of their proceeds to Autism Canada, an organization that advocates and supports those with autism as well as their families.
"We are excited to work with Frankie on another talking bobblehead highlighting his ‘Be Prepared!’ catchphrase and love for the holidays,” said National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar, in a release. "Not only is Frankie doing his part by giving viewers weather warnings, but he is also making a big impact with his latest bobblehead by once again benefiting Autism Canada."
For those wanting to grab this last-minute holiday gift idea before they quickly disappear like the season's first flurry, the new Frankie bobbleheads are available for pre-order at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum's online store for $30, plus $8 for shipping. (Warning, though: They won't ship out until April, so it'll be more like a Christmas in summer present.) And for more blissful bobbly options, check out the rest of the collectibles at the museum's website.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
