FPC Live announced Monday morning that Miron Construction Co., Inc. and JCP Construction will build its new two-venue concert facility in Deer District on the former site of the Bradley Center.
The $50 million venue, built in a joint partnership with the Bucks – who own the land – was announced in May after a previous location adjacent to the Summerfest grounds was canceled.
The new concert hall – adjacent to the Fiserv Forum – was designed by Milwaukee's Eppstein Uhen Architects.
Miron also built FPC's 2,500-person The Sylvee concert hall in Madison.
The hall will include two venues: one seating 800 and the other with a capacity of 4,000. In May, FPC Live officials said, the company expects the new hall to host about 135 event nights annually, and to create 600 part-time, several dozen full-time and 500 construction jobs during the building.
On Friday, Los Angeles-based Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) confirmed that it is a partner in the plan to build the new Iron District a few blocks away, which will also include a concert venue to be operated by The Pabst Theater Group.
The project is expected to break ground soon and open in early 2024.
Perhaps most interesting in Monday's announcement, was a series of EUA renderings showing the interiors and exteriors of the new facility.
The plan moves to the Milwaukee Common Council's City Plan Commission for approval on Monday. If it clears that first hurdle, it will move to the Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee and then the full council for final approval.
(UPDATE: The City Plan Commission approved the plan at its meeting on Monday, Sept. 26.)
