WMSE 91.7 FM will once again host its Food Slam fundraiser Friday, Oct. 5 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering campus.
The 11th annual festival will feature entrees from 26 area restaurants, catering businesses, food trucks and cafes, including SALA, The Rumpus Room, Anodyne, McBob's, Purple Door Ice Cream and many more. Guests can also purchase beer, wine and soft drinks at a cash bar, bid in a silent auction and enjoy access to the Grohmann Museum's historic art collection.
In anticipation of this year's event, Comet and Honeypie Cafes have both created their own specialty burgers – one meat and one vegetarian/vegan-friendly – for sale during the month of September. Both cafes will donate $2 from every sale to WMSE through the end of the month.
Tickets to the WMSE Food Slam are $40 in advance online and $50 at the door. Attendees may also bring two non-perishable food items for donation to the Hunger Task Force to receive a complimentary drink at the event.
