Join us on Saturday, July 22 for some lakeside munchies at the second annual OnMilwaukee Food Truck Fest. Choose from a menu of 20 trucks and enjoy the live music, games and entertainment. It's the biggest gathering of the best food on four wheels.
Love food trucks? So do we! So much so that OnMilwaukee partnered with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. to bring MKE Food Truck Fest to Henry Maier Festival Park in July. Find out more here.
Since 2014, sibling entrepreneurs Alexa and Matthew Alfaro's food truck "Meat on the Street" has been a staple at festivals and events.
“In the Philippines, food is love,” Alexa told OnMilwaukee in 2021. "We wanted to make Filipino food palatable and approachable."
And approachable it is indeed – so much so that it's not uncommon for Meat on the Street to sell out of food items during an event.
This summer, Meat On the Street will introduce two new trailers with specialty items Looney Lumpia – which are Filipino eggrolls – as well as Halo-Halos, a crushed ice and milk drink, and homemade Filipino ice cream.
So what is the most popular menu item for Meat on the Street?
Definitely the "Hot Chick" and beef kabobs.
Are any of your items gluten free? How about vegetarian?
All of the menu, excluding the pork adobo dishes, are gluten-free. The hot tofu bowl is vegetarian and can be made vegan. The vegan bowl is also, obviously, vegan. And our kitchen is nut-free.
Where can people find you this summer?
Meat on the Street will be at all of the NEWaukee Night Markets, the majority of Chill on the Hill concerts, the Drexel Town Square Food Truck Tours, Zoo A La Carte and MKE Food Truck Fest.
If you could park your truck anywhere in the world where would it be?
In the Philippines in Manila where our father, the Filipino part of us, is from.
