Treat yo’self (or those around you) to beautiful blooms next week, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Flowers for Dreams, a retail florist which donates 25 percent of its profits to Milwaukee charitable organizations, has announced that it will return this year to the Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N. Water St., with a pop-up retail space Feb. 11-14.
The shop, which will offer locally crafted flower arrangements will be located in a temporary 40-foot stand on the market’s first level, adjacent to Oro di Oliva and Commission Row Produce.
"With the success we had last year, and with the ability to occupy a space on the first level, we’re thrilled to have another opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Milwaukee Public Market and Third Ward neighborhood," stated Flowers for Dreams Marketing Manager, Lindsay Leinenkugel in a release. "Our shared values and focus on supporting the local community make us the perfect match."
In addition to selling arrangements during the week of Valentine’s Day, Flowers for Dreams will also host a "Couples Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. During the hands-on event, couples can design one signature Valentine's arrangement together while enjoying an elegant wine tasting complete with cheese, charcuterie and live acoustic music.
"Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been fielding calls from our customers about flower options for Valentine’s Day," noted public market executive director, Paul Schwartz. "With a new placement on the first level, flowers will be easier to access and allow customers a convenient and timely purchasing option. It’s a win-win situation that provides a temporary location for a business that can meet those customer demands in the Third Ward and greater downtown area."
