Today, Festa Italiana announced the latest musical headliner added to its schedule: Milwaukee's own BoDeans, playing the festival Friday, July 21, at 9 p.m. at Henry Maier Festival Park.
Born in Waukesha, the BoDeans broke out in the '80s with its debut album, "Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams." Over the years, the band delivered hits like "Fadeaway," "Only Love," "Dreams," "Good Things" and "All the World." Most recently, the BoDeans released its thirteenth studio album – appropriately titled "Thirteen" – as well as a new music video for the song "My Hometown" featuring clips from the Milwaukee and Waukesha area.
"Milwaukeeans saw BoDeans grow into one of the most popular bands of the '90s and the band continues to show their affection for the area with their new music video titled, ‘My Hometown,’" said Dean Cannestra, Italian Community Center president and Festa Italiana chairman, in a press release. "BoDeans are sure to kick off Festa Italiana’s 40th anniversary with a bang, and we are excited to have them perform opening night."
Joining the BoDeans will be Nicholas David, most famous for being a finalist in the 2012 season of NBC's "The Voice." David will hit the Festa main stage at 7:30 p.m.
The BoDeans and Nicholas David join previously announced Festa Italiana headliners Gin Blossoms and "America's Got Talent" finalist Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti.
