Drink Wisconsinbly Pub, 135 E. National Ave., has announced plans to launch Supper Club Saturdays, a weekly tribute to the classic Wisconsin supper club.

The Saturday Supper Clubs will take place on Saturdays, beginning May 21.

In the meantime, to celebrate the new offering, Drink Wisconsinbly will host a Supper Club Saturday launch party on Thursday, May 12, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. happy hour and dinner starting at 6:30 p.m.

The menu will feature a relish tray – including pickled red peppers, beer poached carrots, garlic stuffed deep-fried olives, deviled eggs and roasted scallions – along with a choice of house salad or homemade fish chowder, a choice of Ney’s Big Sky filet mignon or whitefish, a twice baked potato with all the supper club fixings, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, and a grasshopper for dessert.

The event, which is co-sponsored by SoulBoxer, Capital Brewery and Ney's Big Sky, will also feature specials on Soul Boxer Old Fashioned, which are served up from the only functioning old fashioned bubbler in the state.

As an added bonus, the pub will also be screening of the film "Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club," a film which takes movie-watchers on a kitschy and sometimes humorous exploration of this uniquely Wisconsin institution. The film’s director, Holly de Ruyter, will be onsite and available for questions and discussion.

Tickets for the launch of Supper Club Saturday are available online for $36 plus gratuity. Anyone who purchases a ticket during the first week of sales will receive a free Soul Boxer t-shirt.

Moving forward, Supper Club Saturday at Drink Wisconsinbly will feature two different supper club style entrees, one steak and one fish, each Saturday evening.
